Final Passage·5/28/26

Limits recovery of attorney fees and costs in occupational licensing board disciplinary hearings.

Louisiana SB131 modifies existing law to limit the recovery of attorney fees and costs in disciplinary proceedings initiated by professional or occupational licensing boards. Specifically, if a board initiates disciplinary action against a licensee and the final resolution results in a consent order, judgment, or finding with a suspension or probationary period, or a monetary payment, that is less than an offer made by the licensee, the board cannot collect attorney fees and costs from the licensee.
