Louisiana HB909 requires health insurance issuers to include coverage for mobile crisis response and behavioral health crisis care services. These services are intended to provide relief and resolution during a psychiatric crisis. The coverage may have annual deductibles, coinsurance, and copayment provisions. Prior authorization is not required for these services. Providers must be licensed and coordinate with the Louisiana Department of Health sanctioned Crisis Hub. The law takes effect on July 1, 2027.
