Establishes a bulk tagging process for alternative oyster cultivation in Louisiana.
Louisiana HB889 amends existing law to require the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to establish a bulk tagging process for alternative oyster cultivation. This process allows a single tag to represent all oysters on board a vessel between the harvest area and the dockside facility. The bill retains current requirements for tag information, which must include details mandated by the Louisiana Department of Health, Office of Public Health, and the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
