Louisiana HB859 prohibits any person, firm, or corporation from manufacturing for sale, selling, holding, offering for sale, or distributing any cell cultured food product in the state. The bill defines "cell cultured food product" as any cultured animal tissue produced from in vitro animal cell cultures outside of the organism from which it derived. The bill expands existing prohibitions by adding the manufacturing, sale, and distribution of these products to the list of prohibited activities.
