Reduces the Construction Management at Risk threshold for hospital service districts to $1 million.

Louisiana HB839 reduces the threshold for hospital service districts to use Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) for public work projects. It allows hospital service districts to perform public work estimated to cost one million dollars or less using their own employees without advertisement for public bid. The bill also requires public entities to notify the House and Senate transportation committees at least 60 days in advance for projects under $15 million using CMAR. The contract limit for public works projects will be adjusted annually based on the Consumer Price Index.
