Louisiana HB826 expands the methods for referring customers to insurance sellers and modifies compensation rules.
Louisiana HB826 amends existing law to allow unlicensed persons or entities to refer customers to insurance sellers through telephone numbers, email addresses, websites, or direct referrals to insurance companies and their affiliates or partners. The bill retains the prohibition on compensation in the form of a sales commission or based on the customer's application for insurance, applying these restrictions to entities making referrals.
