Louisiana HB8 amends the authorization period for legislative staff to attend executive sessions of state or statewide retirement system boards or committees. Currently, the authorization is valid for one calendar year. The bill extends this period to four calendar years. The chairmen of the House and Senate committees on retirement can authorize staff attendance, and they can revoke or modify these authorizations at any time. The authorization must be in writing and submitted to the director of the affected board.
