Louisiana HB729 prohibits leaving trash cans in state road rights-of-way after collection day.

Louisiana HB729 mandates that all garbage and recycling receptacles placed in state road rights-of-way for regularly scheduled curbside pickup must be removed by the end of the collection day. Noncompliance with this requirement will result in fines: $100 for a first offense, $200 for a second offense, and $300 for a third or subsequent offense. Political subdivisions responsible for maintaining state road rights-of-way are authorized to enforce this provision.
