Increases waste tire fees and dedicates a portion of the revenue to a tire buy back program.
Louisiana HB704 increases the cap on fees collected for the Waste Tire Management Dedicated Fund Account. It raises the fee for passenger/light truck/small farm service tires from $2.25 to $3.25, for medium truck tires from $5.00 to $6.00, and for off-road tires from $10.00 to $11.00. The bill also mandates that $1.00 from each tire sale be used to fund a tire buy back program, with the Department of Environmental Quality authorized to create and implement this program through administrative rules.
