Louisiana HB645 prohibits schools from joining or competing in athletic associations without a governor appointee, a House member, and a Senate.
Louisiana HB645 mandates that no public or nonpublic school receiving state funds can be a member of, or participate in competitions sponsored by, any intrastate interscholastic extracurricular athletic association or organization that does not include a gubernatorial appointee, a House member, and a Senate member as voting members of its governing board or committee. This law aims to ensure certain state officials have a say in the governance of these athletic associations.
