HB593

Louisiana HB593 raises the maximum service and transaction fee for motor vehicle field offices to $8 statewide.

Louisiana HB593 amends the state's law to increase the maximum service and transaction fee a governing authority may assess to fund an office of motor vehicles field office not fully funded by the state. The bill raises the maximum fee from $4.50 to $8 statewide. It also removes the authority granted to Orleans, Jefferson, Calcasieu, and West Monroe parishes regarding maximum service and transaction fees. The revenue generated from these fees will be used for facility rental, utilities, and maintenance.
