Louisiana HB565 clarifies fire safety inspection responsibilities for day care centers.
Louisiana HB565 amends existing law to clarify that the fire marshal is responsible for conducting and supervising fire safety inspections of early learning centers and child day care centers. This change ensures that these facilities comply with applicable federal and state life safety codes. The bill does not restrict the authority of local fire departments to consult with the fire marshal or conduct fire preplanning within their jurisdiction.
