Louisiana HB510 prohibits the importation of captured carbon dioxide into Louisiana for sequestration.

Louisiana HB510 amends existing law to require that carbon dioxide for sequestration within the state be generated within Louisiana. This bill adds a condition to the list of enumerated conditions that must be met before using any reservoir for storage and exercising eminent domain for storage of carbon dioxide. The amendment specifies that the carbon dioxide to be stored must be generated within the state of Louisiana.
