Louisiana HB504 allows Sabine Parish to decide on permitting carbon dioxide sequestration and pipelines.

Louisiana HB504 grants the Sabine Parish governing authority the power to decide whether carbon dioxide sequestration and pipelines transporting carbon dioxide can be permitted within the parish. This decision can be made through a resolution or ordinance. Any prohibition adopted by the parish will become effective upon adoption of the resolution or ordinance. This local determination will override any conflicting state or local laws, regulations, orders, permits, or certificates.
