This bill re-creates the Louisiana Department of Education and its statutory entities, effective June 30, 2026. It changes the termination date for the department and its entities from July 1, 2027, to July 1, 2031. The department and entities will begin to terminate operations on July 1, 2030, unless re-created before then. The bill also repeals certain provisions of the sunset law that previously required a separate bill to re-create each statutory entity within the department.
