Prohibits the Amite River Basin Drainage and Water Conservation District from expropriating property in East Feliciana and St. Helena Parishes.

HB 493 amends existing law to prohibit the board of commissioners of the Amite River Basin Drainage and Water Conservation District from expropriating property in East Feliciana and St. Helena Parishes. The bill maintains the board's authority to expropriate property in other areas, but explicitly excludes these two parishes. Property owners in the affected parishes will be compensated at the replacement cost if their property is expropriated.
