Louisiana HB467 requires residential structures built in coastal parishes after January 1, 2027, to have roofs meeting the latest fortified roof building standards of the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety. These roofs must be inspected to receive a certified fortified roof designation. This applies to any parish located, in whole or in part, in the coastal zone boundary.
