Louisiana HB460 prohibits employment discrimination against state employees using medical marijuana.

Louisiana HB460 amends state law to prevent discrimination against state employees and prospective employees who use medical marijuana for therapeutic purposes. The bill applies to all departments, agencies, and employees within the state classified and unclassified service. It prohibits negative employment consequences based solely on a positive drug test for marijuana if the employee has a clinical diagnosis of a debilitating medical condition and a physician has recommended marijuana for therapeutic use.
