Complete·5/15/26

Louisiana HB450 awards five points to veterans in competitive fire and police civil service employment.

Louisiana HB450 amends existing law to award five points to veterans who have served in the U.S. armed forces during times of war for 180 days or more and have been honorably discharged. This applies to individuals on the competitive employment list for the entrance or lowest ranking class in the classified service. The bill retains the current system for municipalities with populations over 13,000 and those with populations between 7,000 and 13,000.
