Louisiana HB45 amends the Municipal Police Employees' Retirement System to increase accrual rates and allow for the purchase of higher accrual rates.

Louisiana HB45 amends the Municipal Police Employees' Retirement System (MPERS) to increase the accrual rate for creditable service to three and one-third percent of the member's final average compensation for service credited on or after January 1, 2027. It also allows members to purchase an increase in their accrual rate for service credited before January 1, 2027, at a cost calculated on an actuarial basis.
