Ment Text

Louisiana HB435 allows expedited expungement of arrest records for individuals under 18 if prosecution is declined or dismissed.

Louisiana HB435 amends the Code of Criminal Procedure to allow expedited expungement of arrest records for individuals under 18. This applies if the district attorney declines to prosecute or if the prosecution is dismissed, quashed, or results in an acquittal. The bill removes the previous requirement that the individual must have been 17 years old at the time of arrest to qualify for expungement.
