HB423

Louisiana HB423 establishes statewide parade safety standards and requires rider accountability.

Louisiana HB423 mandates the Department of Public Safety and Corrections to create rules ensuring parade safety. These rules include prohibiting glass bottles, discriminatory items, and obscene words or symbols on parade floats. The bill also requires maintaining a list of parade participants for identification purposes, conducting safety briefings for float riders, and establishing incident reporting procedures for rule violations. Each organization hosting or conducting a parade must maintain a list of people riding on a parade float for identification following an incident report.
