Louisiana HB378 amends existing law to increase penalties for obstructing public passages when committed with a motorized vehicle. If the obstruction is intended to hinder a first responder, the offender faces a fine of up to $1,000 or imprisonment for up to six months, or both. If the obstruction is intended to hinder a law enforcement officer in pursuit or making an arrest, the offender faces a fine of $1,000 or imprisonment for up to two years with or without hard labor, or both.
