Louisiana HB344 modifies the Grain and Cotton Indemnity Fund by increasing the balance thresholds for fund transfers to the Louisiana Agricultural Finance Authority (LAFA) and for the suspension and resumption of collection of assessments. The bill raises the balance level at which the La. Agricultural Commodities Commission must suspend collection from $10 million to $22 million and the balance level at which assessments collected prior to suspension must remain within the LAFA from $12 million to $25 million.
