Louisiana HB33 amends the Back-Deferred Retirement Option Plan (Back-DROP) for members of the Sheriffs' Pension and Relief Fund. It allows members with 35 or more years of service to select a Back-DROP period of up to 60 months. Members with 30 to 34 years of service can choose a period of up to 48 months, while those with 25 to 29 years of service can select a period of up to 36 months. The Back-DROP period must be the most recent calendar period corresponding to the member's accrued creditable service.
