Louisiana HB290 re-creates the Department of the Treasury and the statutory entities made a part of the department by law, effective June 30, 2026. This act changes the termination date from July 1, 2027, to July 1, 2031. The Department of the Treasury and its statutory entities will begin to terminate their operations on July 1, 2026, unless the legislature enacts a bill authorizing the re-creation of the department. The act also repeals R.S. 49:191(1)(i) in its entirety.
