Louisiana HB209 sets the state minimum wage at $10 per hour starting January 1, 2027, increasing to $12 per hour on January 1, 2029, and $14 per hour on January 1, 2031. If the federal minimum wage is raised above the state minimum wage, the state minimum wage will also increase to match the federal rate. Employers must pay employees at least the state minimum wage for hours worked. Louisiana Works is responsible for enforcing the law and can create rules and regulations for its implementation.
