Louisiana HB198 mandates the Louisiana Department of Health to set Medicaid reimbursement rates for gastroenterology procedures at ambulatory surgery centers at or exceeding the Medicare rate. The bill requires annual updates to these rates to reflect Medicare adjustments. The Department must also promulgate necessary rules and regulations to implement these provisions by October 1, 2026. The law becomes effective upon the governor's signature or, if not signed, upon the expiration of the time for bills to become law without the governor's signature.
