HB145 amends Louisiana law to establish a process for the payment of extraordinary medical and dental expenses for firemen and law enforcement officers injured in the line of duty. The Law Enforcement Officers and Firemen's Survivor Benefit Review Board is tasked with hearing and deciding claims for these expenses. The state risk director is required to pay these expenses from the Self-Insurance Fund. The maximum benefit payable is $50,000 per injury per officer.
