HB1213

Louisiana HB1213 regulates vehicle loads to prevent escape, exempts certain vehicles, and sets penalties for violations.

Louisiana HB1213 amends vehicle load regulations to prohibit vehicles from traveling on highways unless they are constructed and loaded to prevent contents from escaping. It mandates that vehicles have no openings allowing material escape and that closures be secured. The bill exempts authorized maintenance vehicles during emergencies or weather operations and vehicles that drop incidental agricultural or sugarcane harvest residue that does not create a hazard.
