Louisiana HB1194 amends the Healthy Food Retail Act to enhance the state's healthy food financing program. The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) will prioritize projects that increase access to affordable fresh food and demonstrate community demand, implementation capacity, and long-term sustainability. The LDAF will also identify and map food deserts, develop a 10-year elimination plan with benchmarks, and prioritize funding for projects in underserved communities and food deserts.
