Louisiana HB1165 repeals the city court judgeships in Marksville and Bunkie, effective January 1, 2027. The bill creates an additional judgeship in the 12th Judicial District Court in Avoyelles Parish. The additional judge will be elected at large from the district and will have jurisdiction throughout the district. The judge will take office on January 1, 2027, and will serve the same term as other judges in the district.
