Louisiana HB1156 enacts safety regulations for carbon dioxide transport and sequestration. The bill establishes requirements for the design and construction of CO2 sequestration pipelines, including materials used, temperature and pressure variations, and backup power sources. It prohibits CO2 transportation unless it is chemically compatible with all components of the pipeline and any other commodity that the CO2 may come into contact with.
