Provides relative to the selling of state-owned surplus movable property (EN SEE FISC NOTE SG EX)

Complete·6/9/26

Louisiana HB1129 establishes a preference for in-state auctioneers in the sale of state-owned surplus movable property.

Louisiana HB1129 amends the sale of state-owned surplus movable property to give preference to in-state auctioneers over out-of-state auctioneers when their services are equal in quality and do not exceed in cost by more than 10%. The commissioner of administration is authorized to hire qualified licensed auctioneers to handle the sale, with selection by competitive bid annually. If the governor vetoes the bill and the legislature approves it, the act becomes effective the day following approval.
