Louisiana HB1080 enacts a new law allowing the city of Shreveport to file a suit against the owner of a condemned commercial property to compel demolition. The suit can only be filed after the owner has been given an opportunity to demolish the property and pay any liens. The city can recover court costs, attorney fees, and all costs incurred in locating the owner, notifying the owner, and enforcing the lien on the property.
