HB1057

Provides for an application to vote absentee by mail made by a member of the United States Service

Complete·6/2/26

Louisiana HB1057 allows U.S. Service members stationed abroad to apply to vote absentee by mail.

Louisiana HB1057 amends the state's absentee by mail voting law to allow U.S. Service members stationed or deployed outside the United States to apply to vote absentee by mail. The application remains valid until the member is no longer stationed or deployed abroad. If an absentee ballot is returned undeliverable, the application is invalidated, and the member must submit a new application. The bill retains the requirement for the registrar to provide written reasons if an application is rejected.
