Introduced·3/30/26
Ment Text

Louisiana HB1047 exempts requests for authorizations for prescription drugs from existing workers' compensation timelines.

HB1047 amends Louisiana law to exclude requests for authorizations for prescription drugs from the existing timelines for workers' compensation cases. Under current law, a payor must notify a medical provider within five business days of receipt of a request for authorization and any aggrieved party can file an appeal within 15 calendar days. The medical director or associate medical director must then render a decision within 30 calendar days. HB1047 ensures these provisions do not apply to requests for authorizations for prescription drugs.
