Louisiana HB1040 amends the composition of the board of commissioners for the Central Louisiana Juvenile Detention Center Authority. The board will now consist of seven commissioners, each appointed for an initial term of four years. Each commissioner must be a qualified elector and reside in the parish for which they are appointed. The appointments are made jointly by the chief judge and district attorney for the respective judicial district and the sheriff of the parish. The changes in membership will take effect on August 1, 2026.
