The Kentucky Senate adjourns in honor of John William "Willie" Ellery, a lifelong Springfield resident who served as the Maintenance Director for the Housing Authority of Springfield and a member of the Springfield City Council. Ellery was also a devoted member of Holy Rosary Church and an usher for U of L Athletics. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and pickleball player, winning the Play Club Golf championship three times. Ellery passed away on November 5, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving behind his wife, children, siblings, and grandchildren.
