SB62

AN ACT relating to evictions during extreme weather conditions.

Introduced·1/12/26
Bill Text

Kentucky SB62 prohibits evictions during extreme weather conditions.

Kentucky SB62 amends the Kentucky Revised Statutes to introduce a new section that defines "extreme weather conditions" as days with Extreme Cold or Extreme Heat Warnings or periods of natural disaster. The bill mandates courts to stay the execution of a warrant of restitution for residential properties during these extreme weather conditions. The stay remains in effect until the conditions cease, after which the execution of the warrant must be completed within three days.
