Kentucky SB57 establishes the Kentucky Nuclear Energy Development Authority to facilitate the development of nuclear energy in the state. The authority will create and implement the Nuclear Reactor Site Readiness Pilot Program to assist communities in applying for and procuring early site permits, construction permits, or combined operating licenses for nuclear energy projects. The authority will also engage with federal regulators, review safety practices, and promote the siting of nuclear storage facilities.
