Establishes requirements for background checks and training for caregivers of children in foster care, relative caregiver services, and fictive kin.
Requires the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to conduct criminal background investigations for applicants providing foster care, relative caregiver services, or fictive kin placements for children. The Cabinet may also require fingerprint checks and conviction information from the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. Caregivers of children under five must complete a training course on pediatric abusive head trauma. The Cabinet may require adult household members in certified adoptive or foster homes to register in the rap back system.
