SB300

Kentucky SB300 amends animal care laws to establish procedures for animal seizures, hearings, and owner responsibilities.

Kentucky SB300 introduces new provisions for animal care, focusing on the procedures for animal seizures, hearings, and owner responsibilities. The bill mandates that peace officers or animal control officers must serve notice to the animal owner within 24 hours of seizing an animal. This notice includes details about the seizure, the authority for it, and the owner's potential responsibility for the animal's care costs. The owner has the option to voluntarily surrender the animal or face a hearing to determine the need for continued care.
