Bill Text

Kentucky SB299 establishes a pilot project for instruction permit testing at high schools.

Kentucky SB299 creates a pilot project for instruction permit testing at high schools in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education. The Department of Kentucky State Police will operate the project from September 1, 2027, until June 30, 2029. The state police will identify high schools in each congressional district, with a preference for districts where the state police do not provide permanent, full-time testing. Participating schools must have local school board approval, designate a coordinator, provide internet connections, and ensure appointments.
