The Kentucky Amber Alert system is created to notify the public when a child has been abducted or identified by law enforcement. The Department of Kentucky State Police, in cooperation with various agencies, will operate this system. It will use existing resources like electronic highway signs and media providers. Law enforcement agencies must cooperate in disseminating information about abducted or missing children. The system will only activate if the department determines that public notification might aid in the recovery of the child. This act is known as Wynter's Law.
