AN ACT relating to the Public Service Commission.

Introduced·2/27/26
Bill Text

Kentucky SB285 amends the Public Service Commission's appointment process and term lengths.

Kentucky SB285 revises the Public Service Commission's structure, stipulating that the commission comprises three members appointed by the Governor with Senate approval. The Governor designates one member as chairman and another as vice chairman. Appointments must occur before July 1, 1982, with staggered terms ending on July 1, 1983, 1984, and 1985. Vacancies are filled for the unexpired term, and appointments made more than 90 days before a regular legislative session require Joint Interim Committee on Energy confirmation.
