Kentucky SB277 amends the Kentucky Revised Statutes to allow the Energy and Environment Cabinet to create regulations for clay mining reclamation.

Kentucky SB277 amends the Kentucky Revised Statutes to allow the Energy and Environment Cabinet to create administrative regulations for the reclamation of land disturbed or removed in the mining of clay. These regulations must encourage water impoundments and follow the standards established in Article III of the Interstate Mining Compact. The cabinet can create these regulations regardless of Kentucky's membership status in the Interstate Mining Compact.
