SB232

Kentucky SB232 amends vehicle registration laws to clarify procedures for issuing registration plates and handling refunds for destroyed vehicles.

Kentucky SB232 modifies the Kentucky Revised Statutes to specify that county clerks must enforce vehicle registration laws, including issuing receipts and collecting fees. It mandates that the Transportation Cabinet make commercial vehicle data available to the Department of Vehicle Regulation. The bill also outlines procedures for refunding license fees when a vehicle is destroyed, requiring the owner to submit an affidavit and return the license plates. The clerk must report and remit collected moneys to the Transportation Cabinet weekly, with penalties for late submissions.
