SB228

Kentucky SB228 amends fire department regulations to clarify the roles and powers of fire chiefs and members.

Kentucky SB228 amends the Kentucky Revised Statutes to specify that the chief of the fire department in fire protection districts must attend all board sessions and execute board orders. It also clarifies that the term "chief" includes the assistant chief when the chief is not on duty. The bill further defines the roles of regular members of fire departments, stating they are subject to the county judge/executive's orders while enforcing fire protection laws and are part of a law enforcement agency.
