Kentucky SB202 amends laws regarding school board elections and district divisions.
Kentucky SB202 revises the process for determining school board membership and district divisions. The Kentucky Board of Education must determine the required number of school board members based on district enrollment, with specific numbers assigned to different enrollment ranges. If a board fails to adopt new divisions after notice, new member positions are considered at-large. The bill also mandates that school board elections occur in even-numbered years, with specific provisions for cities of the first class.
